"Because," explained the king,
"peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise,
trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all
those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real
meaning of peace." - Author Unknown

Considering I chose to open with this quote some time ago, it’s
interesting that at this time I’ve been watching coverage of the
Air France crash at Pearson Airport in Toronto. Miraculously
there doesn’t seem to be any loss of life. Still there will be
many people dealing with issues which threaten to destroy their
inner peace. No doubt some will have great difficulty with this
situation, while others will manage to pull themselves together
relatively quickly and go on with seemingly little turmoil. Why
is this so?
Gone Fishing
I’m of the opinion that those that appear to sail through
hardship and keep on going without interruption must have
something within themselves that enables them to do this. This
must involve a sense of peace. From what source do they derive
their peace? At this point many of us would jump up, raise our
hands, and answer “God”. It seems an easy enough explanation for
those of us that believe in the source of all the universe as
being the all knowing, ever strong energy of God. But it never
ceases to amaze me that of all the people who believe in this
source, relatively few actually seem to find peace in this
presence.
So many of us, in spite of our belief, continue to struggle on a
daily basis, instead of letting go and sailing through life. It
would appear then, that more than a belief is required in any
given instance. For if the source of all is believed to be
present for everyone, if God’s love and peace is given freely
for all to have, what then do we need to do to have it? The
answer I’ve arrived at goes much deeper than a belief. From the
very bottom of our soul we must have faith, and faith can’t be
rationalized by belief. It just is.
Inner Space Odyssey
How do I know this? My own personal experience has tested the
belief thing over and over and over again. And while I have no
problem saying I believe, I’ve witnessed myself continue to
struggle and control my destiny with miserable results. The
relatively few times I’ve felt inspired to let go, I’ve
witnessed incredible things which I would define as nothing
short of miracles. Synchronicity absolutely abounds when I
release the lasso I throw around my intentions, step back, and
allow some space. Ultimately it’s so much easier than squawking
and flapping my wings until I lose my feathers! And the results
are always so amazing - better than my wildest dreams.
There’s no way we, as rational beings, are capable of
envisioning the realm of infinite possibilities. Unless maybe
it’s only my bird brain that experiences difficulty with this.
But no, it’s been my observation I’m not the only one. Therefore
I recommend letting go of preconceived notions to access the
source of all that is without us and within us.
Ice Escapades
Shut up, already! (Talking to myself here.) Sorry about that. It
seems once again I’m throwing a lasso and trying to strangle you
with my philosophy, instead of saying my piece, and letting go.
Interesting that I’m the best illustration of my own viewpoints
of negative behaviour. Shows you I know what I’m talking about,
though!
Like everything else, adopting new behaviour is all about
practice. And as we’ve been told, practice makes perfect -
whatever perfection might be. So, once we’ve acquired new
knowledge that we feel is worthwhile to incorporate into our
lives, we must continue to pursue enlightenment in that area.
Inspiration can be a tough thing to hang onto, and easily
becomes a slippery slope if we let our guard down.
I’ve touted the benefits of continual education. Seminars have
given me a new lease on life. Basically they’re quick, and that
suits my impatient nature. Cut to the chase so I can begin
practicing a.s.a.p. Reading helps me fill in the gaps, gives me
the freedom to continue my education in my own time frame, and
keeps me up to speed with my practice, lest I take that toboggan
ride down the slope and have to climb all the way back to the
beginning. In my experience it’s never enough to acquire
learning and expect it to stick, without continually renewing
it. Even 2 mil premium cast vinyl needs to be reapplied
eventually, if you get my drift.

Speaking of which, have you checked our website lately? No, as I
write this we still haven’t got our vinyls posted there,
although that’s about to change. But what you will notice is
we’ve begun making our products available via an automatic,
secure shopping cart. All you have to do is click, fill in your
pertinent info, and submit. Voila! Corbins will ship your order
to you imminently. This is a labour intensive project, so please
bear with us while we get all our inventory up and running on
the shopping cart. Vinyl will be our next priority. Check back
often to monitor our progress.
Before I go, in the interests of your continuing education, I’d
like to recommend a book for your reading pleasure. If you’re
looking to give your business a boost, pick up “The E Myth
Revisited” by Michael E. Gerber. It’ll tell you “Why Most Small
Businesses Don’t Work and What to Do About It”. If you think
you’d like your business to do better than it is, give this book
a try. Blair highly recommends it.
For your success,
