Notice our new brand and logo
on the pages of this newsletter? We’re gradually launching the
new name, and you’ll eventually recognize it on everything about
us. I’ve mentioned it before, it’s been in the works for awhile,
and we’re finally venturing forth to put it into widespread use.
Prognosis
Exhibitionists at heart, Blair and Diane encountered success
from our booth at Imagemakers 2006 in Toronto mid-September.
Introducing SignEquip’s products and services to a large crowd
(what else were you thinking?) was met with enthusiasm. While
western attendees were limited, those who made the journey had
the advantage of meeting with manufacturers and distributors to
check out the latest technologies, and get personal attention.
We had the privilege of handing out many free samples, and we
hope to continue to supply these products to all customers who
value a dedicated, helpful supplier. One lucky business person
won our draw for a free Rav en Vinyl Cutter.
Neurosis
This may be a business newsletter, but life has a funny way of
happening, and I’m inclined to share whatever is relevant in my
life, whether it’s about business or not. It’s always possible
my experiences might be of interest or even helpful to someone
else. So, here’s the latest from Raven land:
What goes around, comes around. I’m always suggesting books to
my readers, and strongly encouraging you to read them. Well, the
tables have been turned in a way reminiscent of my school days.
This suggestion was, no less, an assignment from my doctor. A
strange prescription, don’t you think? Maybe not when you
realize the physician in question is a specialist in alternative
and complementary medicine. He prefers his patients to be
informed. After all, knowledge is power.
Obviously, he considers this book to be a reliable source of
vital information. I’d have to agree. It’s one of those things I
believe should be read by everyone, and is of special importance
to those undergoing mysterious and frustrating illnesses. Listen
up if you, or anyone you know is currently being challenged by
any of the following: Chronic Fatigue, Thyroid Disorder, Poor
Immune Function, Brain Fog, Poor Focus, Fibrocystic Breast
Disease, Breast Cancer, Graves’ Disease, Hashimoto’s Disease,
and more.
Diagnosis
You’ll also want to read this book if you currently, or have in
the past, consumed fluoridated water and/or commercial baked
goods, as well as certain regular medications...
What’s that? Oh, the title of the book... (It’s the brain fog!)
It’s “Iodine - Why You Need It - Why You Can’t Live Without It
(2nd Edition)” by David Brownstein, M.D. Unfortunately you’ll
probably have to search your local health or vitamin store to
find it. A search of popular online booksellers rendered no
success for me, although Amazon does carry his other books. I
did notice similar books on iodine, however. They may or may not
serve your purpose, so if you find this subject relevant, want
to read this book, and can’t find it, let me know. I’ll try to
snag a copy for you.
A few words about it - it’s fascinating. Dr. B doesn’t
postulate, he discusses results, including case histories, based
on his personal research in his own medical practice. I
suggested Blair might read it. He rolled his eyes at first. Then
he did. I believe I gained new respect in his eyes (once they
quit rolling, that is!)
Psychosis
Give it a chance - you’ll be astounded to discover the general
lack of iodine/iodide consumption in the diets of a significant
number of the world’s population. You’ll be amazed to realize
how vital this nutrient is to our bodies. This is not another
overrated quick fix, but you’ll be encouraged to learn it’s a
simple solution to some conditions. However, it must be safely
monitored by a qualified health care professional.
Speaking of which, I’ve learned the hard way about professional
monitoring. Suffice it to say, self-treating can be a dangerous
game of chance. Never, never mess around with your thyroid on
your own, even if certain stores carry products to encourage
you. It’s misguided, and can make matters worse. Enough said.
So, in the matter of iodine, where do you turn? When you get to
a point where conventional medicine no longer gives the desired
results, or heaven forbid, makes matters worse due to the
prescription of toxic pharmaceuticals - yes toxic, those
possible side effects they’re always talking about can catch up
with you eventually.
Precocious
In light of all this, the answer to the question is to find a
natural alternative health care professional. I’ve successfully
enjoyed results from several types of practitioners. But if
there comes a time when it doesn’t seem to be enough, or you’re
confused about which combination of therapies is best, you may
need a better diagnosis or management. This is when you’ll want
a holistic medical doctor who is also trained in alternative and
complementary therapies. Or find one who is open to using
alternative assessments, as well as utilizing the services of
other appropriate practitioners and therapists. This is the
integrated approach, which once widely practiced, will go a long
way to ridding our society of poor quality health and life.
