It’s post-seminar time again!
Yup, I've recently returned from another inspirational Peak
Potentials seminar at the Los Angeles Convention Center. By the
way, for all of you who are in my boat, riding the wave of early
winter chill and gloominess, we were blessed with 80 degrees and
sunshine every day. Reason enough to attend a seminar in La La
Land this time of year. Who cares that we were in sessions from
early morning to late evening every day. At least we had the
chance to enjoy the climate as we dashed to grab a quick lunch
or dinner, even managing to slip out into the sunshine briefly
on the scheduled 10 minute bathroom breaks. Of course, this
depended entirely on how quickly I was able to get in and out of
the bathroom before the session resumed!
Women Only
Don’t get me started! (Okay, I’ve started.) What’s up with
architects who plan women’s bathroom facilities in conference
centers, etc.? Other than the fact that they’re so obviously of
the opposite gender. In my experienced opinion, the ratio of
women’s facilities to men’s should reasonably be 4:1 - twice as
many bathrooms, with twice as many stalls. This would be make
sense, meaning women would also be able to enjoy a few minutes
of fresh air on their break, instead of standing in line until
they’ve run out of time to do what they came to do.
There! I’ve got that off my chest. When my feathers are ruffled,
and I’ve got a pen in my beak, you’re liable to hear about it.
Anyone out there who knows someone in the right place to correct
this inequity, please deliver the message for me. Women
everywhere will thank you.

Let’s see, where was I going before I got off on that path? You
are following me, right? Back to the Master of Influence
seminar... How many of you would give anything to be a master of
persuasion and influence (for all the right reasons, of course)?
Imagine how much more successful your business could be if you
were skilled in the art of influence. Did you even know it’s an
art? Better yet, do you realize it’s also a science? There are

However, before you bother to learn the science of influence,
it’s important to understand the art of influence. As I see it,
science can be taught and learned, whereas pure art cannot be
learned. It has to be in you already. It comes from your very
soul. It’s all about passion - about why you want to influence
someone in a particular way. And if it truly comes from your
soul, there will be great concern for the well-being of the
party you are attempting to persuade. While trying to influence
someone to buy what you’re selling, if you feel to your very
core that you’re the giver and they’re the receiver, then you’ve
mastered the art of persuasion and influence. Now you’re ready
to learn how best to accomplish it. This is where the science
comes in.
Sold!
Recently, selling has been given a bad rap. I’m here to polish
the tarnish from the label. Consider this - if you believe you
have something of value to sell, then you have a responsibility
to sell it. Don’t just sit back on your heels and hope customers
will stumble onto your offering. Instead, jump up and figure out
how to get it to them before it’s too late to save them from
their distress. Someone out there needs you to help them. Get
out there, find them, and serve them. You can’t do this by
hiding out. (By the way, if you don’t feel this way about your
product or service, it’s time to switch to something different.)
Sometimes selling might be as simple as revealing yourself -
finding every conceivable way to advertise your company (brand)
and your products and services. There are those who might see
immediately that you’ve got what they want. Often though, there
will be some confusion about what they really want or need. This
is when you have to further persuade them. Do you think you can
do this? If you’re not sure how to go about it - if you’re not
achieving a high persuasion conversion rate - it’s time to come
out of hiding and take some instruction on how to go about it.
Abracadabra
At the seminar I learned all about influence (and who is the
master) when T.Harv Eker persuaded me to buy a subscription to

intend to be further influenced by it - to learn how to think
like a rich person. I believe this will make me more successful
in all areas of my life.
