Wow! Where to start? I could
do it chronologically or I could start off with what I consider
to be the most exciting news first. It’s my column, after all,
so I get to make the call. Well, I can’t wait, so I’d like to
announce the birth of my first grandchild, Lukas Odin Corbin-Adamczyk.
You do realize this makes Blair a grandpa. Yeah, I know, and I’m
a grandma. Hard to believe, but Lukas’ birth on April 22nd
confirms that fact, and we’re both loving it!
Free Raven
A bit of trivia for you: Corbin is an Old French word meaning
raven. The Norse god, Odin, was accompanied by two ravens.
Before she knew she was pregnant, our daughter had a dream that
she would have a son named Odin. It wasn’t until she looked it
up that she realized Odin was associated with ravens.
Synchronicity!
During the day and night that culminated in Lukas Odin’s birth,
my emotions ran the gamut. First there was love and
anticipation, followed by compassion and understanding, a sense
of unity, brief concern and frustration, more excitement,
relief, awe, and once again love. Of course, my emotions weren’t
the only ones in evidence. Everyone present for that momentous
occasion has a story to tell. In the end, I witnessed
overwhelming joy and absolute ecstasy that early Sunday morning.
Soaring Raven
Lukas had the privilege of being born at home, surrounded by his
father, both grandmothers, and one grandfather (Blair focused on
staying out of the way, in order to avoid being tossed out), and
two capable birthing assistants. Obviously his mother, my lovely
daughter, was present as well, although there were some moments
during the long night when exhaustion reared it’s head, and she
was ready to leave! However, left little choice, she stuck it
out and produced her bouncing baby boy at 7:06 A.M. Life hasn’t
been the same since - not for Lukas’ parents or his
grandparents. This was definitely a transformational event.
Fair Trade
Now, let’s back-track a bit to the previous weekend. That was
spent in oddly not-so-sunny Las Vegas, Nevada at the
International Sign Expo. This was another incredible event,
which provided some very successful opportunities for the
SignEquip team (unlike the thankfully brief time spent in the
casino - I’d best stick to what I do best!) Back to the show:
Start watching for the fruits of our expo labours. Keep your
eyes peeled for the gradual unfolding of the blossoms in the
weeks to come.
Gone Fishing
Our next foray afield will be to the Western Canadian Image
Makers Show in Richmond, B.C. This time we will be exhibiting,
so please come out, introduce yourselves, and see what we have
to offer. I think you’ll be amazed at what we have to show you.
We’ll have products and info which will certainly help promote
your business to the next level. Aside from that, we’d love the
opportunity to put faces to all of the names on our list.
This is an amazing opportunity for landlubbers to visit the
gorgeous West Coast. Of course, you’ll have to reserve a bit of
extra time to actually see the coast - you won’t see it from the
Best Western Richmond Hotel and Convention Centre, which is
located conveniently near the airport, but it is nearby. I
recommend visiting Steveston, a quaint, historic fishing village
in the southwest corner of Richmond, only minutes from the
hotel. While you’re there you can explore unique little shops
and enjoy great fish and chips on the wharf.
Chocolate Pudding
My life is deliciously full these days. If only I could convince
my body that it’s wonderful to have so much going on. It’s been
one thing after another with no end in sight. While I’m loving
it, I am feeling slightly tired. After spending some late nights
preparing to leave for Las Vegas, and then arriving back home at
3:30 A.M., there was the sleepless weekend assisting at the
arrival of my grandbaby. The next weekend I attended the
phenomenal Women Gathering Event - 2 ½ days of fun and
transformation, which I would highly recommend to my feminine
readers. Sorry guys, you’ll have to find your own event.
In the meantime, I’ve been busy promoting another Kundalini
Dance™ Workshop for my lovely and talented eldest daughter.
Speaking of the West Coast, she hails from there. And while in
town to lend support to her sister, the new mother, she’ll share
her talents to enlighten, inspire, and motivate participants at
another trance-formational event this coming weekend.
Trance-send
It was at her previous Edmonton workshop in January that Blair
experienced miraculous healing of a knee injury that had been
tormenting him for weeks. The purpose of Kundalini Dance™ is to
balance the chakras - the 7 energy centres of the body/mind - by
taking you out of your mind and into your body to promote higher
consciousness. This may sound strange, but it obviously can
work. Besides, it’s a lot of fun for those who love to dance.
The best part - anyone can do it - no talent required!
I’m not only busy promoting this event, I’m also planning on
participating. There goes another weekend! I can’t help it; I’m
a dancing fool. I hope Kundalini Dance™ can cure fatigue! I’ll
let you know.
I think after that I might have a couple of weekends free -
Mother’s Day is coming up, and I plan to take advantage - before
I head off to a 5-day seminar at the awesome Nakoda Lodge in
Morley, AB. It will be another voyage of self-discovery (believe
me, I’ve been on this one for more than half a century, maybe I
can speed it up a bit!) There is the hope of actually feeling
rested and refreshed afterward. When I return we’ll be hot on
the trail of preparation for the Richmond show.
